Meet The Animals!

We have some BIG animal personalities living with us, but they make up the character of the farm and we love each and every single one, they are all part of our family. We thought you may like to meet them too!

First we have the doggie gang

Scrappy is our Black and Sliver Miniature Schnauzer Male. He is just a big chunky monkey who adores cuddles! Scrappy is a big softy, he loves nothing more than a long walk up the land followed by a huge cuddle. He has to watch his weight as he can be greedy and pile on the pounds!

Pippas Jumping Jack Flash AKA Ozzy is our KC Registered Black Miniature Schnauzer and is available for stud duties. He is a real character and we just love him to bits. Ozzy likes going for walks and playing with the pigs and chickens! Ozzy holds a clear eye certificate. He is the most amazing dog at stud (if we do say so ourselves!) he covers easily and is very gentle and throws the most beautiful puppies of which there are many. He has a strong black gene.

Lexi is our Black and Sliver Miniature Schnauzer Girl. She is very tiny and still looks like a puppy even though she is two years old! Lexi is a beautiful dog with a personality to match, although we have to keep an eye on her on the fields while walking as once she gets a scent she is gone and it takes ages to find her!

Luna is the newest member of our doggie gang. She is the most beautiful Rottweiler bitch. We unfortunatly have been the victims of petty theft here at the farm so Luna has come along to help protect the farm and our family, that said she is a live in house dog and very much part of the family. She is very beautiful and we are very lucky to have her!

Now the cats!

Our two yard cats are feral and have been rescued from the RSPCA, They are called Rumble and Wizzy!. They live in the barn and are excellent at catching mice and rats! They were wild when they joined the farms animal team and Rumble and Wizzy still have a way to go before they enjoy a cuddle, but are getting braver by the day!

The Horse Gang!

Our family is just crazy about horses, they are such beautiful animals and we just love everything Horsey!

We have 3 horses who are loved to bits and spoiled rotten!

Our longest standing member is Tricky (Mr T to his friends) who is our 12 hand welsh section A gelding. He is 21 years old and we have had him for around 5 years now. He is the been there, done it and bought the T shirt type and knows when he doesnt have to work!. We love him so much, he is such a character. He will never leave us now, as we couldnt bear to part with him. He has taught both my children to ride and is without a doubt the safest pony in the world ever! I just wish we could stretch him to make him bigger! Tricky loves cuddles, carrots, custard creams and long steady hacks in the countryside!

Then we have the beautiful Rosie who has replaced the smile on my daughters face after she lost her pony Rodney a short while ago. Rosie is a beautiful tri coloured cob and India and Rosie are like two peas in a pod- they seem perfect for each other!

Our Third Horsey friend is my Cob Beauty (Boo for short), she is compact at just under 14.1, but nice and forward going! Since Boo joined team Windy Bank, I have really enjoyed absolutely loads of hacking, she is the kind of horse that will just go anywhere and for miles and I find her really good fun. We love hacking together and going for a good gallop!. We can't wait to hit the beach this year!

Now the pigs!!

Mif is Windy Bank Farms Kune Kune registered breeding sow. Show name Rainbow Dragon Sally!!

Mif is a yard pig, hangs round with the horses, dogs ,chickens and cats and is a real character!, she screams for food all day and if we dont watch her like a hawk will been on the hunt or the chicken corn like a flash! She loves giving the chickens a PIGGY BACK RIDE each round the yard, and also 'HELPING' muck out the horses stables!! She is a real people pig and loves to follow me around the yard and loves nothing more than laying accross my knee in the hay for a good old tummy tickle!! Mif loves pig nuts, Carrots, Apples and is also partial to the odd horse treat!!

Then have Hazel and Miley our two Kune Kune breeding sows. They are like two peas in a pod and have always been together. They are very clever and know how to sit on command and roll over!

Jemima or Jammy to her friends is our beautiful hand reared one eyed Kune girl! Her eye burst when she was just a couple of days old and she had to have a big operation to remove it and then be hand reared! Round the clock feeding and care continued for weeks and we now have the most beautiful girl who does not let having one eye stop her enjoying life to the full! She is just a fantastic personality and very much loved by ourselves and all who meet her!

Then we have a resident Kune Kune resident Boar!

Boris is our Te Wangi Boar - he is such a gentle and sweet chap and fits in with our family perfectly, he has done an absolutely fantastic job for us with the ladies and the farm has had litters of beautiful piglets by him! We are very proud of Boris and love him very much indeed!

All our Kune Kune pigs are free range and have their own field where they spend their days grazing on the lush grass, eating pig nuts and carrots for their tea and sleeping in their cosy ark... what a life!

They are VERY clever, can sit for a treat (see right), roll over for tummy tickles, come to call and love going for walks up the land! They each have super personalities and we love them very much indeed! Everyone should have a spider pig, we don't know what we would do without ours!!
